Dr. Venkat PMBBS, M.S. (General Surgery), M.Ch (Surgical Oncology) The Veritas Cancer Care team led by Dr Venkat P has expertise in treating gastrointestinal, gynaecological and peritoneal surface malignancies. With almost two decades of experience, Dr Venkat P has managed around 25,000 oncological cases and performed over 20,000 surgeries. His areas of expertise include cancer of the stomach, pancreas, oesophagus, colon and rectum. He is also well-versed in the latest treatment methods like robotic surgery, intra-peritoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC, PIPAC, IP PORT, NIPEC, EPIC), ERAS and fluorescence-guided surgery. Robotic surgery is his niche speciality. Unlike other surgeons, he performs most of his robotic surgeries with a scar of no more than 1 cm. He has to his credit the management of various high-risk, complex cases involving multi-organ resection. He is one of the very few surgeons in the country to perform Robotic transanal excision of rectal tumour with no scar and same-day discharge. He is also very well trained in the cutting-edge technology of fluorescence-guided surgery which helps in decreasing complications. He uses it to perform guided lymph node clearance to make sure of the removal of all tumour tissue. He is one of the few surgeons who strictly follows the international ERAS guidelines for the early recovery of his patients with lesser complications.
